Ashley Danny
Program Coordinator
Ashley is a Program Coordinator for the Youth and Family Training Institute (YFTI) which is a part of the University of Pittsburgh. She is responsible for tracking, verifying/entering, and auditing data for counties across Pennsylvania along with numerous grants her team supports which are funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
Ashley graduated from Mercyhurst University with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Forensic Science with a concentration in Forensic Anthropology and Minor in Biology. She obtained a Master of Science in Biomedical Anthropology from Binghamton University (SUNY). While working towards her Master’s, Ashley studied health and disease in human populations, which includes mental health. In addition, she performed research at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center/University of Pittsburgh studying job stress and cortisol responses in women with and without a familial risk of breast cancer. Lastly, she was a Graduate Student Research Associate on the Lyme and Other Tick-borne Disease research project at Binghamton.
Overall, these experiences allowed her to refine skills in data collection, verifying/entering data, interpreting results, and presenting in a public forum, which she now uses in her current role at YFTI. Outside the office, she enjoys playing and watching hockey as well as spending time with her family, husband, Mike, and dog, Stella.
