
Alyssa Girón
Training and Implementation Coordinator
Alyssa Girón is a Training & Implementation Coordinator at Youth and Family Training Institute (YFTI) She is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist since 2014 and became an Approved Supervisor through the AAMFT in November 2024. Alyssa has previously worked as a Manager for the Community & School Based Behavioral Health Program at UPMC and before that was a Supervisor for a Wraparound Program in San Francisco, California. Alyssa continues to support the Wraparound program by providing Family Conference facilitation specifically to families who are monolingual Spanish-speaking.
Alyssa received her master’s degree in counseling psychology and has dedicated the past 18 years to working with children and families of all backgrounds in the San Francisco Bay Area since 2007 and now the Pittsburgh area since 2020. Alyssa contributed to a curriculum designed for Latino Men’s support group, expanded mental health resources for Spanish-speaking families in the Pittsburgh Area through the Latino Community Center, and co-chaired a Clinical Supervision Consultation group for Supervisors within the UPMC Child Service Line.
Alyssa grew up in Guatemala and has been a native Spanish/English speaker since early childhood. In her free time, Alyssa enjoys cooking, exploring new restaurants and watching psychological thrillers. She is married to her husband, has a son, and 2 incredibly loyal rescue dogs.
