
Jamal Ford
Family Peer Specialist Trainer
Jamal Ford is a Family Peer Specialist Trainer for the PA Care Partnership grant. In this role, Jamal brings both professional expertise and lived experience to support families navigating complex systems of care. He provides training, mentorship, and advocacy to ensure that families are empowered and supported throughout their journeys.
Before joining YFTI, Jamal Ford served for seven years as the Youth Resource Coordinator for the PA Care Partnership grant, where he collaborated with youth organizations across Pennsylvania to support counties in implementing the System of Care philosophy. Prior to that, he spent seventeen years at a residential treatment facility, holding various leadership and direct care roles. His work there included implementing the Sanctuary Model and pursuing trauma-informed care training through Lakeside Global Institute and Philadelphia University (now Thomas Jefferson University), in partnership with The United Way.
With his extensive experience working with and for youth and Families, as well as his knowledge of trauma-informed principles, Jamal has been a great help to counties during the implementation of the System of Care Philosophy.
