Welcome to the HFW Family Support Partners Page!

The Youth and Family Training Institute (YFTI) welcomes you to the section of the website for our Pennsylvania Family Peer Support (FSPs). On these pages you will find resources for working through the process to make sure it is effective for families involved.

A Family Support Partner is someone raising or raised a child or children with mental health or behavior concerns. This person may or may not have gone through the High Fidelity Wraparound (HFW) Process. Some Family Support Partners that have not gone through the process may have navigated and have the knowledge of several systems for their own child or children.

An FSP is responsible for ensuring family voice and choice, helping the family understand themselves and articulate their needs and choices, making sure the family’s hopes for the future are listened to.

An FSP supports improved self-efficacy and confidence by helping the family discover and articulate their talents and strengths, get involved in positive activities where they can succeed, helping to guide and support the family through the process and completion of actions steps on the plan(Ex: Identifying Natural Supports or helping the family to build their support network and teaching the family to be self-efficacious) and celebrate their success.
