
Ashley Danny
Senior Research Coordinator
Ashley Danny is a Senior Research Coordinator at the Youth and Family Training Institute (YFTI), part of the University of Pittsburgh. In her role, she oversees the tracking, entry, and continuous quality improvement of evaluation data across multiple initiatives. Her work supports programs implementing Family Driven Teaming, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)-funded grants, and other efforts focused on strengthening mental and behavioral health services for youth, families, and communities.
Ashley collaborates with partners to strengthen data collection and reporting, develop data collection tools and research surveys, analyze findings, and present results at professional conferences. She is committed to ensuring data accuracy and consistency, enabling programs to make informed, data-driven decisions that support long-term impact and sustainability.
Ashley holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Forensic Science with a concentration in Forensic Anthropology and a minor in Biology from Mercyhurst University, as well as a Master of Science in Biomedical Anthropology from Binghamton University (SUNY). Her graduate work focused on health and disease in human populations, including mental health. She has contributed to research at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center and the University of Pittsburgh examining job stress and cortisol responses, and to a Lyme and other tick-borne disease research project at Binghamton University. These experiences strengthened her expertise in data collection, analysis, and communicating findings to diverse audiences.
Outside of her professional work, Ashley enjoys playing and watching hockey, reading, spending time with her husband and dog, and exploring her interest in oddities and curiosities.
