Brittany Stallworth, PhD

Family Based Training Faculty

Dr. Brittany Stallworth (she/her/hers) has extensive experience counseling children, adolescents, families, young adults, and both traditional and nontraditional students. She began her clinical work in Pennsylvania in 2018 on the front line as a Family-Based Therapist with the Allegheny Children’s Initiative, where she provided intensive family-based services for nearly four years. She later transitioned to the University of Pittsburgh’s University Counseling Center, where she served as an Outreach Coordinator and Staff Clinician, supporting the mental health and well-being of college students.

Dr. Stallworth is currently a Contributing Faculty member in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Walden University and an Adjunct Professor in the Professional Counseling Master’s program at Carlow University. She earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Education and Supervision from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, where she also completed her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Her dissertation explored Black residential fathers’ (meaning fathers that live inside the home) lived experiences related to fatherhood, father–child attachment, and perceived support systems.

Dr. Stallworth’s work is grounded in culture, education, equity, empowerment, and self-exploration. She is committed to helping clients, trainees, and students identify their strengths and foster meaningful, sustainable change.
