Susan “Susie” Brookman…

Susie is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been in the Mental Health Field for 21 years, with a lived experience spanning 49 years.  Susie has extensive specialized training in and provides services in trauma, attachment, relationally oriented therapy and EMDR. She works with families, adolescents and adults. She began her career as an educator and melded those skills with her lived experience and her mental health training to begin developing and facilitating trainings in 2013.

Susie joined the Family Based world in 2015 as a Senior Clinician becoming an Assistant Director in 2017. Susie has a passion for clinical supervision due to her love of teaching and elevating clinicians to their full potential. In 2021 she was invited to develop trainings with the Family Based Training institute. In 2022 she joined Wellness Warrior Group as the Clinical Director; providing counseling & developing trainings for the community.

She is passionate about the Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy model & relational work believing that these treatments create opportunities for new experiences that lead to healing for clients and growth for clinicians. Her passion is teaching clinicians how to utilize the ESFT model, recognize their world view, limitations and strengths and hone their use of self.  Susie’s mission is to help others to reach their full potential.

Susie grew up outside of Philadelphia and has lived in Pittsburgh for over 25 years. She resides in Hampton with her husband, son and a menagerie of family pets. Including the now famous, Buck Beak (a cockatiel) who frequents virtual meetings.
