Elizabeth Errickson…

Liz is an LCSW who joined the training faculty at the UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital’s Family Based Training Center in 2024.  Liz currently facilitates clinical and graduate trainings for the program.

Liz first became involved with intensive in-home Family Based services in 2007 when she became a front-line clinician at Allegheny Children’s Initiative.  Over the next 15+ years, Liz remained active in ACI’s Family Based program, including over 8 years as the Family Based Director.   Currently, Liz is in private practice in the South Hills of Pittsburgh where she continues to use the ESFT model everyday with her consumers.  Liz is also trained as a trauma therapist in EMDR and specializes in working with adoptive and foster families on trauma and attachment wounds while using an eco-systemic lens.

She believes that issues occur within the context of the family, and that by focusing on the relationships between people instead of one person in isolation, lasting second order change is possible. Families develop patterns to move forward and survive through difficult times, unaware that those patterns may be why they are stuck.

A life-long Pittsburgher, Elizabeth lives in the South Hills with her husband, 2 sons, a dog, and a rabbit.  Liz looks forward to working with and learning from the Family Based programs and staff in the Western PA area.
