Program Coordinator

Ashley is a Program Coordinator for the Youth and Family Training Institute (YFTI) which is a part of the University of Pittsburgh. She is responsible for conducting interviews for Allegheny, Blair, and Greene counties and verifying/entering data for other various grants, including the Behavioral Health Alliance of Rural Pennsylvania and Pennsylvania Care Partnership.

Ashley graduated from Mercyhurst University with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Forensic Science with a concentration in Forensic Anthropology as well as a minor in Biology. She obtained a Master of Science in Biomedical Anthropology from Binghamton University (SUNY). While working towards her Master’s, Ashley studied health and disease in human populations, which included mental health. She also performed research at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center/University of Pittsburgh studying job stress and cortisol responses in women with and without a familial risk of breast cancer. And lastly, she was a Graduate Student Research Associate on the Lyme and Other Tick-borne Disease research project at Binghamton. Overall, these experiences allowed her to refine skills in verifying/entering data, interpreting results, and presenting in a public forum.

Outside of the office, she enjoys playing hockey and spending time with her family, husband, Mike, and dog, Stella.
